Stone Bridge of Arta

Stone Bridge of Arta

The stone bridge of Arta is the most famous in all of Greece, a legend of the “sacrifice of the master craftsman”. The poem became one of the most moving songs of Greek folk music. According to the legend, the bridge “was built all day long, it was approved at night”. This is a historical truth because the locals built it at the behest of the Turks to pass a large Turkish military force. So the residents themselves went into the night secretly and tore it down. When the Turks realized it, they demanded the killing of Protomaster and his wife. Then you will visit the ancient city of Kassopi. There are surviving ruins from the 4th century BC. A tour of the market with boulevard, theater and walls captivates you. As the size of the city testifies, the Agora, the two Theaters, the Pritanee and the Conservatory, which came to light with the excavation, as well as some inscriptions, were the political center of the Caspian. After your visit there you will be taken to the beautiful nearby beaches of the area to enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
